On lighter tracks –
fibre-composites can do more!
Fiber-composite plastics = less weight – less fuel consumption – more available space.
A simplified equation with a true core.
With the use of modern fibre-composite materials and their characteristic flexibility in desgin, new application possibilities including new market areas/accesses are available. Using these materials reduces the weight of the vehicle consequently reducing the fuel consumption and the emission of exhaust gas pollutants.
The increasing demand of space for comfort and safety in modern vehicles limits the accessible space, which leads to inevitable >packaging problem<. In contrast to solutions using steel, the readily forming features of fibre-composites allow the development of individual concepts fitted directly to the available space.
The combination of these characteristics facilitate the production of complete component groups with fewer components in less manufacturing steps. An economic solution which bears potential for cost reduction.
